This is a really special feature-rich barn garden designed in keeping with an impressive conversion, boasting uninterrupted views across glorious Hertfordshire countryside.
We were delighted to be invited to design a new garden to compliment this fabulous family home.
Our clients spent years renovating a truly inspiring barn conversion. We designed a sunken gravel courtyard garden with uninterrupted views across the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. In the centre of the garden, a dramatic David Harber sculpture seemingly floats above a small raised pond. A water rill leads the eye through to the stunning views.
Linear planting mirrors the long windows to the front of the property. A chill-out area, which takes advantage of the views, is protected by a curved sleeper wall and a group of Himalayan Birch trees.
The borrowed landscape
The hard landscaping features are softened by prairie style planting. This informal planting is interspersed with structural evergreen shrubs, sub-shrubs and grasses to provide year round interest. This garden borrows the landscape beyond and the grasses and relaxed flowering perennials gently link to the surrounding countryside, creating a truly stunning and special garden!
